Remembrance Sunday 2020

Watton Town Council has taken the difficult decision not to hold a Remembrance Parade this year.  They don’t want to put anyone at risk in the current Covid epidemic.

The Mayor will visit the War Memorial on Sunday 8th November and lay a wreath on behalf of the Town.  We would ask residents not to visit the Memorial at 11am or 2pm when a crowd might form.  Please take time for individual reflection at home.

Organisations that usually lay a wreath have been asked to do so individually and with only a small number from their group attending.

St. Mary’s Church Watton will be holding a livestreamed 10.00am Service of Remembrance on Sunday 8th November, this can be accessed on the St Mary’s Watton website.  There will also be a short service at noon on Saturday 7th November at the Cemetery to commemorate the Commonwealth War Graves.  To attend in person places at all services must be booked. Please contact St Mary’s directly on [email protected] or 01953 881252.
